Moroccan Avocado, Banana, Almond, and Date Smoothie
Cheers lovely people! I have something very creamy and delicious to drink I want to introduce you to: A Moroccan avocado smoothie with almonds, dates and banana!
“Avocado smoothie?! Delicious???” – if these are your thoughts: Please continue and let me convince you.
“Avocado smoothie!! Delicious!!!” – you should continue too.
And everyone else too anyway.
Fluffy, creamy, and sweet
If you’ve only ever eaten avocados (at this point I would like to recommend my recipe for a delicious, healthy avocado pasta), read on. Avocados can also be consumed in liquid form.
I stumbled upon this smoothie a little eternity ago while I have been on vacation in Morocco. While strolling through a market, I think it was in Marrakech, I passed by a booth where people were buying a green drink. The booth was filled with avocados and the sales guy said they were selling smoothies out of – guess what – avocado.
In addition to avocados, there is also milk (I was a vegetarian at the time) and sugar in the smoothie. – My imagination wasn’t the most positive one. But I was curious, and the drink was cheap, so nothing much to lose. And: I loved it!! This smoothie was sooo incredibly fluffly and creamy! And soooooo sweet. Definitely too sweet for my taste (like the Moroccan mint tea which was sugar with some tea), but it was very good.

I made this Moroccan avocado smoothie so many times after my holidays but then somehow forgot about it. I just remembered it recently and have done it countless times since then.
I’ll show you my modified version, which (except for the banana, I think) is also classically Moroccan: I use almonds and add a banana. Instead of sugar, I use dates. With four dates per large glass, this smoothie will be sweet, but not overly peck-sweet.
So… What do you think? Will you give this Moroccan avocado smoothie a try?
